How are boat classes being organized?
Given this is a true rowing only Championship event a lot of attention will be paid to classifying boats correctly. We will attempt to class fixed seat boats as well as all oar on gunnal craft. Our intention is to set some standards where there currently are few for traditional boats. The sliding seat classes and paddle classes are well defined already and we will adopt standards comparable to the Blackburn race committees.
Directions?
Detailed directions are found on the Registration page. The race will be held at the Nelson Beach Recreation Center in Plymouth MA. Roof-carried and smaller trailer boats may be offloaded at the beach, but cars will not be able to park there. Larger boats will need to be launched at the Plymouth State Launch facility, approximately one quarter-mile away (behind East Bay Grille Parking for trailers is the responsibility of the participant.
Parking?
There is no parking at Nelson Beach as the limited sapce will be required for race-support. Free parking is available in a parking lot off Water Street. However, parking in front of the East Bay Grille is metered. Some street parking is also metered. Please pay attention to where you park as you will be responsible for any tickets you may incur.
Registration?
There will be on-site registration. All participants will need to sign waivers on race day. |
